1 year Surgaversary!! & Happy New Years

WOW It has been 1 year since my surgery. Hard to believe it has passed already. I have come such a long way in such a short time. I have to remember that when I start thinking that I havent met goal yet (8 pounds away) or that I havent lost enough, or stopped losing for a while. I have lost 109 pounds!!! There are days where I still feel huge. I guess that is a huge mental hurdle I will have to work on. Also welcome to 2012! This is my first year in my new body. Hopefully this year I can tone it up a bit and look even better.

2012 Goals

So  I plan on havibg a set of goals for 2012. Who actually accomplishes their resolutions?? Ok. Here they are 
1. Run 10:30 mile
2. Run 40 min 5k
3. Do 5 push ups
4. Do 5 backwards push ups (back to foor)
5. Do 5pull ups
6. Run 2 miles without walking
7. Meet goal weight

Monday I had my 1 year post op appt. had to get a little unfill because everything is getting stuck. Just couldnt eat anymore. Afterwards. It never felt so good to be able to eat something. I actually did a fist pump. Hangs head in shame. Will be posting my 2012 exercise/weight loss goals soon.

Finally New measurements

SO, it has been several months since I have been able to find my tape measure. So I found it today!! Have new measurements. I have lost 42 inches 107.8 pounds!! I did my first measurements a week after I started dieting. So, I have some unaccounted inches. Lost quite a bit that first week. That was 12-22-10 Did these today.

Had to renew my lincence today

Im turning 26 next weekend so, I had to get my lincence renewed. But I needed a update anyways!! I got the short stick so I had to redo my test too, no big deal there. passed! While the guy was verrifing all my info he said whats your new weight because this is obvsly wrong. makes me feel good that it was noticed. anyways here is my before and after. Picture was from when I was 21. so 5 years ago. I lied my weight down then too...

my go to foods

For a while now, I have been just having a cheese stick for breakfast. Sometimes in my lunch or later snack too. I have the Cheeseheads Light Cheese Sticks. They are 60 calories, 25 cals from fat, 2.5g fat, 1.5g sat fat, 10mg cholesterol, 230mg sodium, 1g carbohydrate, and 8g protein.
For my evening snack I normally have some Prairie Farms Low Fat Cottage Cheese. 1/2 cup is a serving. 90 calories, 20 cals from fat, 2.5g fat, 1.5g sat fat, 15mg cholesterol, 450mg, sodium, 5g carbohydrates, and 13g protein. They also have the 1/2 cup individual cups for eating on the go!

I also do the precooked chicken as i posted in my other post. 3 oz chicken 100 calories, 15 cals from fat, 2g fat, .5g sat fat, 50mg cholesterol, 470mg sodium, 1g carbohydrate, and 21g protein!

For dinner  often make Sawi or talipia. get it frozen from walmart. Just put in baking dish and top with some old bay seasoning. YUMM! bake eat. Swai 1 4oz filet is 70 calories, 2g fat, 1g sat fat, 45mg cholesterol 290mg sodium, <1g carbohydrates, and 15g protein.   The Talipia 1 4oz filet is 100 calories, 25 cals from fat, 2.5g fat, 1g sat fat, 40mg cholesterol, 75mg sodium, <1g carbohydrates, and 20g protein.

For lunches I like to make Turkey Roll Ups. I use 2 slices of the Great Value (walmart brand) Fat free turkey breast. (the perfect shape) 1 cheese stick, and a bit of horseradish mustard.  Totals 115 calories, 2.5g fat, 5g carbohydrates, and 18g protein.

Todays Lunch!

I picked up some of those Tyson cooked chicken breasts the other day. I decited to make some for lunch today. So 1 serving is 3oz. I wanted a little more so I did 4.5 oz. 1 1/2 serving. Then defrosted for 20 sec in microwave and sauted a bit with pam. broke up the pieces and added about a 1/2 tbs of teriaki sauce with about 2 tbs of water. mixed and ate!! YUMMY! and WOW look at the nutritional values!! 
168 calories   3g fat   3.9g carbs    32.5g protein

In other news, I am now down to 189.8 today. I havent been in the 180s in almost 10 years! Hard to believe.  have lost 35.09% of my body weight. Lost 102.6 pounds.

100 pounds down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! As of today I am down 100.6 pounds. It has been 10 months 11 days since my surgery. There are days when I get discouraged that I havent lost in a month or when I gain 2-3 pounds but I just have to remind myself that I have lost 100 pounds. That doesnt come without some ups and downs. I should expect some stalls. I have exactly 7 weeks till my surgaversary. 49 days. I would like to hit my goal by then. 16 more pounds. several months ago, I would say no problem, but I havent lost much since August.

So I have a few big pieces of info to post!! First off, I have not been able to get under 196.2 for the last 2 1/2 months. Saturday I was 194.8!! Completely skipped the 195's. Today I am 193.6. I am 1.2 pounds away from losing 100 pounds!! So excited! ALSO!!! As of today I am now in the overweight category of the BMI scale. No longer severly obese or obese!!! When I started I was 45.2 BMI, now 10 months (10/27 will be 10 months) later I now have a 29.9 BMI!   I also wanted to say thank you to my new followers. I do this to keep myself accountable but I can help someone out in the process that makes it all the much better!

back to basics

Im getting tired of this stall im in. SO, back to basics we go. I havent been eating the best so, that will be the first Ill be fixing. And I am upping my exercising. Been slacking there too. Made a new recipe yesterday. I have always liked those toster scramblers, so I decided to make a healthy version!!  I used 6 sheets of phyllo dough, turkey sausage, egg whites, and fat free cheese. It needs less egg and more cheese, but it is still good!! I only eat 1/2 at a time. there just to big!! For 1 whole one it is 139 calories, 1.9g fat, 20mg cholesterol, 600mg sodium, 10g carbs, 19.9g protein. Not to bad if I say so myself!!

9 months 95 pounds

So in a few days it will be 9 months since my surgery. I have lost 95.4 pounds as of today. I have days where ill look in the mirror and sayd "damn, i look good!!" then other times and cant believe how fat I still look. I dont know. I have come so far in such a short time.  So close to losing 100 pounds. My goal is 175.4 Hoping to make that by my 1 year anniversary. 21.6 pounds to go. We will see. With all my skin I dont think I can get below that. I dont want to get under 150. Dont think that will be healthy. My post skin surgery goal will be 155.4. Hopefully one day that can become a reality.

8 1/2 months

So, It has been 8 1/2 months since my surgery. I am down 92 pounds!! I am finally under 200 pounds for the first time in 9 years. I just cant believe it. Doesnt seem  possible. I have so far gone from a size 24 pant to 16. I think if I got rid of my excess skin I would be a goal weight. I just need to find out a way to get the surgery. My insurance wont cover it because it is not bad enough. :-( anyways here are pictures.

Shopping Trip!!

I decited I needed some new dresses for going out and stuff so I went shopping. So im in a size 16 jeans, but I fit into a size 13 dress!!!! whoot whoot!! I got 4 dresses but these are the 2 for going out. First time ever wearing a short dress. And my new boots too!!! never would have been able to wear them before!!!

So Confused....

I don't understand why I'm gaining weight. ok to start. My BMR (basic metabolic rate) is 1776.95 calories. (what i burn by living) If I eat 1100-1200 calories and I dont exercise or burn less than 400 calories I will gain weight. If I burn more than 400 calories I will normally stay the same. Dont get that right there... But im really not getting what has been going on the past 2 weeks. I had my fill July 11th. I was 214 I lost 6 pounds in the next few days then since then I have gained 4. I gained 2 pounds today and I do not understand.. here are some numbers and charts. I have been drinking at leats 64 oz water a day. Can anyone help me???????

down 80 pounds!!

Whoop Whoop!! Down 80.4 pounds today. Only 12.1 pounds untill im in the 100s!! Had my fill yesterday. he is ok with how im losing. Said it is ok to have a slow time. Im still doing above and beyond.

Ok. So I am 6 1/2 months post op.. I am down 78 pounds. I have been staying around here for a while now. getting frustrating. I have been exercising a little less though. My hip and knee have been killing me and now im in physical therapy. We will see where that takes us. I redid my measurements the other day. A few days before surgery (after my intital big loss) I had a 47" waist. Now I have a 38.75" waist! I have also gone from a 43.4 bmi (from same time) to 33.6 bmi. All together I am down 30.25 inches. Like I said that does not count my original loss. Did my first measurements late. Anyways here are new pics.

New pictures, new losses, and new gains

So I am now down 72 pounds in 5 months post op... I am half way there. I am so proud of myself that I have accomplished that much. But at the same time, I am always wanting more. I just have to remember I have lost a ton of weight and remember to proud of myself despite my brain saying otherwise.

I ran my 2nd 5k on Saturday 5/28/11. It was at St. Bonifest in Edwardsville. I improved my time and got 45:33 last time it was 46:20. I was hoping for a faster time, but I still improved which again im proud of!

NSV=Non Scale Victory
So I wanted to share some of my NSVs I have had in this process.
I guess ill start in the beginning. I lost my pregnant stomach after the first 20 pounds I lost even before my surgery.  Ummm instead of wearing 2x-3x shirts I can now fit into Larges!! As you have seen in previous posts I have now been able to fit into jeggings and tall boots!! My legs are starting to look fabulous! I used to wear 101/2-11 shoe now i wear 8 1/2 wide. some 9s. Never realized my feet were fat. I can now fit down the slide at the park. It is no longer a tight squeeze!! (pic bellow!!!) I can also fold my leg up in my car while driving. (pic below) oh! I almost forgot, I went to the dr the other day, and she grabbed the "normal" size bp cuff and it fit!! woo hoo!!

My biggest struggle

so, my biggest struggle with this wls process is defintly making sure i chew my food. I know it seems like an easy concept but if you really think about how you eat, you will see no one chews. You chew chew swallow. I keep getting "stucks" because I dont chew enough. I got stuck yesterday with kraft mac n cheese. tiny noodles got stuck because I pretty much just swallowed it down. it hurts so bad, and it is only my own fault. I just have to work harder on it.

New Stats/updates

I know it has been awhile. So an update on me. I ran my first 5k on Saturday, April 23rd. It was the Wildcat Pounce in St. Rose, IL. My goal was 45 min, but i finished in 46 min 20 seconds. I did that running on my own, with no one to push me, so I am pretty proud of myself. Next time I will do better!! I had another fill on thursday April 21st. He only added a little bit. I now have 5.8cc in my band. So I took my measurements this morning. First time in a long while. I am now down 21 inches. But it is actually more since my baseline(first measurement) was after I lost the first 20 pounds. But still 21 inches!! WOW!!! As of today I am down 63.6 pounds and have a bmi of 35.8. I started at a bmi of 45.8.

60 pounds down!!

So today I am now down 60.4 pounnds from my starting weight. I started my low carb diet on 12-7-10 and only lost 1-3 pounds. I then started my liquid pre op diet on 12-16-10 that is when I really started losing weight. So since then I have lost the 60.4 pounds. But I have lost 40.4 pounds since my surgery date on 12-27-10. I originally lost the 20 pounds in 11 days. It has been 105 days (15 weeks) since my surgery. On average I have lost 2.69 pounds since surgery date. If you count the 11 days of pre-op diet I have lost an average of 3.66 pounds a week.

my first "stuck"

WOW that was scary!! I was eating some leftover talipia. I knew after I took the bite and swallowed it, that it was to big. normally I just get a little pain and then im fine. But NOOO! It hurt so bad, and lasted forever. I tried and could not throw up. I did have a few burps and the slimy crap. uhh fun! Finally after 10 min I got my digestive enzime, but I had to take it with applesauce since it is a capsule. So I opened it over the applesauce and man. I took the bite and felt like it was in my throat. Was such a horable feeling. I also took a drink of water and like 30 seconds later I was perfectly fine. I need to get some of those chewable enzimes incase this ever happens again. uhhhh
